We have arrived in Guatemala City and on the way to our destination. As we sit in traffic we noticed the faces of other people on the bus. Like most cities I’ve been to, the people sit quietly alone with their thoughts.
However, these people seemed so sad! So we started waiving at them and sharing a warm smile. (Americano loco?) Then we saw a moment of joy as they smiled back.
We never know what a person is going through inside, but we can always make an effort to brighten their day, and maybe share a moment of joy in knowing that someone else cares.
After all the travel, I’m reminded that love is a universal language.
